- Especially common among 15-24 year olds, Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) that can infect both men and women. It can cause infections in the genitals, rectum, and throat. Sometimes it’s referred to as “the clap.”
- Know the signs to look for. Check here for a list of symptoms, BUT also know that many times this infection can occur and be spread without obvious symptoms. This is why it’s so important to be tested.
- Gonorrhea is becoming increasingly resistant to antibiotics, so be sure to get tested and treated by a licensed medical professional if you believe you may have been exposed to this STD.
